XX Contest Opens Jumilla Wine Quality international tasting (18/03/2014)

20 tasters found among professionals 'Fair Interwine' China will assess a hundred wines from the Denomination of Origin in blind tasting

He stressed that this Designation of Origin "continues to grow in selling bottled wine", with 24 million bottles sold.

Cerda also highlighted the "balance" that has reached Jumilla in national and international sales.

The Jumilla is one of the oldest wine regions of Spain, which also includes part of the territory of Albacete.

The Control Board currently has 2,100 growers, 45 wineries and a total of 24,000 hectares.

Awards

The awards ceremony will take place at a gala dinner to be held in Jumilla next Friday, March 21, with the participation of the directors of Agriculture Murcia and Castilla-La Mancha.

This contest is officially endorsed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, organized by the Regulatory Council of the Denomination of Origin.

The tasting panel will consist of national experts and tasters, among which are journalists, purchasing managers from leading wine clubs and technicians from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Departments of Agriculture of Murcia and Castilla-La Mancha.
