Jumilla a special campaign launched by Control Motorcycle adds DGT (16/05/2014)

As reported by the Department of Public Safety and Traffic, in compliance with the programming of Campaigns and Operations Monitoring and Control 2014, holding the Traffic Department, the City of Jumilla will join the Special Campaign on Control of Motorcycles, you will get between 19 and 25 May in the town.

The campaign will focus on the prevention and control of non-regulation aspects overtaking ITV expiration, no helmet and speeding, which are the main risk factors, as well as most of the offenses committed by motorists.

The use of motorcycles has increased significantly since 2003, especially as an alternative to the automobile in urban travel, with an increase in the number of motorcycles 88%, versus 19% of cars.

Furthermore, the particular vulnerability of the motorcycle has made since 2003 the number of accidents involving motorcycle has gone from 10% of total to 22% in 2012.

In 2012, users of the motorcycles involved in 22% of all injury accidents and 73% of injury accidents in which motorcycles were involved occurred on urban roads recorded 31% of the deceased, 49% of serious injuries and 76% of minor injuries.

Effective Jumilla Local Police will be in charge of developing the campaign and surveillance in the town, which is expected to reduce traffic accidents involved motorcycles progressively.
