The Glass Making Workshop concludes leaving only pieces that will join the collection of Sciences Nature Museum (17/11/2014)

This Saturday was held at the Museum of Ethnography and Natural Sciences the second session of the workshop manufacturing crystal "World of Crystals", a programmed from the Department of Culture in the programming of the third quarter, activity in which one dozen children saw the process of formation of these minerals.

During the first session on Saturday, November 8, Cayetano Smith, director of the Museum with Sebastián Martínez and Angel Francisco Cutillas, explained the need for crystal formation process, through a chemical experiment that emulates training nature of these ores.

The results were studied on Saturday, with desmoldado crystals, and analysis of formations, some of great value for their geometric dimensions, so have will join the collection of crystals that houses the museum.

The crystal growth method was carried out with the mixture of products with hot water, and isolation in a sealed container for one week.

These conditions of heat and humidity have resulted in unique pieces that simulate natural crystal formation.

The next child activity will take place this Saturday, November 22, at the Museum of Archaeology Jerónimo Molina, and this time will be dedicated to the realization of an Iberian basin, for which children visit the Iberian section that houses the Museum where they will pick up ideas for further processing using the method of pottery, and knowing more about the tradition of pottery.
