Education highlights the work of students and teachers in Infanta Elena Institute of Jumilla innovating with new technologies (11/12/2014)

The Minister of Education, Culture and Universities, Pedro Antonio Sánchez, and the Mayor of Jumilla, Enrique Jimenez, today visited the Secondary School Infanta Elena, where they held a meeting with your address to see first hand the work that teachers and Students innovate in the use of new technologies that have made them a leader nationally.

In fact, the institute has achieved the National Award for Education Centres Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities for his project 'Prevention tecnoadicciones, an initiative in which teachers and students are involved in the use of new technologies and which also implies directly to families.

With the commissioning of the project of the Ministry of Education 'Teaching XXI' in high school, which is the transition from traditional teaching textbooks for teaching with digital resources, a group of teachers believed necessary to apply a methodological change education and digital literacy to families.

Coordinated by Professor Carlos Andrés López, the program was designed for various purposes and in which the students and families would be the protagonists.

One of the cornerstones has been the creation of a multimedia guide to preventing 'tecnoadicciones', in which students have performed 16 video tutorials with tips for effective use of information technology and communication and to avoid risks which can be consulted on the youtube channel created to house: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCNLVz8_JFOdh89QOuWb-I1w.

Besides this multimedia tool, have also conducted a workshop on digital training children to parents and other guide optimization of computer equipment.

"As a result of this work, students have achieved a solvent application of technology and audiovisual media and responsible use thereof for learning, improving school performance. There has also been a better coexistence in central and greater involvement of families in their children's education, resulting in improved educational quality and student success. This work is a clear example of educational innovation and best practice in education, the result of effort, good ideas and commitment, "said Minister Pedro Antonio Sánchez.

Teaching XXI

The Institute of Jumilla Infanta Elena of Secondary Education was one of the first 25 centers implanted last year the program 'Teaching XXI', in which the paper book is replaced by the 'tablet' or other electronic devices.

Currently, 161 students are 1st and 2nd of ESO performing learning using digital media.

Overall in the region are 35 institutes and volunteer this type of education in digital format to families and more than 2,000 students who participate in this pioneering initiative of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Universities.
