The Department of Gardens reinforces the fight against weevil infestation before they hatch in private gardens (11/12/2014)

The Department of Parks and Gardens of the City of Jumilla has initiated a reinforcement in fighting the plague of red palm weevil, through the technique endotherapy applied to the affected palm trees in the gardens of the resort, a strategy initiated after the detection of new specimens affected by this pest, as a result of spread from diseased palm trees on private property or abandoned.

As explained Councilman Parks and Gardens, Juan Manuel Abellán, "palm gardens and public spaces have regular monitoring and appropriate treatment, the problem comes when the owners of plots with specimens affected by the red palm weevil, not you give proper treatment, thus facilitating its spread to the rest of ejemplare of the town ".
