Jumilla receive about 1,700,000 euros to promote the rehabilitation of homes in the neighborhood of San Juan and the Old Town.

A total of 150 homes will benefit from the subsidy plan approved by the Ministry of Development and the Autonomous Community, which was effective yesterday with the signing of the agreement that will allow these investments.

Thus, the president of the Region of Murcia and the Minister of Development, Ana Pastor, signed the agreements that Jumilla, and the municipalities of Murcia, Cartagena and Torre Pacheco, is hosting the program Regeneration and Urban Renewal, including in the Ministry of Housing Plan for 2013-2016.

The mayor of Jumilla, Enrique Jimenez, who signs the agreement, explained that this is great news for Jumilla, "as more than 1,700,000 euros will be invested in subsidizing rehabilitation of a total of 150 homes in the Casco Antiguo and San Juan, besides serving as an economic lever to the construction sector as punished in recent years. "

In total in the Region of Murcia, 1,379 homes were rehabilitated and renewed 35 others in the five urban areas that have benefited from this agreement, two of them from Jumilla.

This agreement represents an excess of 16 million euros investment.

With these actions, said the head of Murcia, Alberto Garre, "not only going to meet a material need of urban renewal, but will meet the demands of families, those most in need to enjoy a higher quality of life and see their living conditions improved. "

For its part, the Minister of Development reiterated "the importance of the Housing Plan approved by the Government of Mariano Rajoy supposed to promote and create jobs and, in particular, the agreements signed today in the Region of Murcia terms of urban renewal. "

So, Pastor said that this housing plan "will be created as a whole more than 36,000 jobs across Spain, which is most important at this time for the Government of Spain and Murcia."
