Seven schools in the town, and over 700 students have participated in the IV Equality Drawing Contest, sponsored by the Department of Equality, on the occasion of Women's Day to be celebrated on Sunday, March 8th.
Yesterday participating students and students gathered at the Plenary Hall of the City of Jumilla were given, to inaugurate the exhibition with 50 works selected, in addition to delivering a reminder to all participants, and to know the winning drawings.
The work presented by the student of CEIP Mariano Suárez, Eva Dolores Gil, was the chosen best, and awarded the first prize, consisting of a voucher worth 100 euros for the purchase of school supplies.
In second place was the student of Lucia Lopez, CEIP Príncipe Felipe, and thirdly the Alba Perez, also from the same school.
According highlighted the Councillor for Equality, Alicia Abellán, "with this contest pretend that children embody on paper, what they think about what we call equal opportunities between men and women."
Also highlighted as "a raising from a young and small, that arise and think in this situation, and we do think older, about what remains to be achieved, it is still much" .
The activities organized by the Department for the week of women, continue this morning at the Market, where ten associations of women participating in the Bank of Experiences, will exhibit their handicrafts, in a sample that has been able to visit during morning.
For tomorrow, Wednesday, March 4, the Department in collaboration with Cine Indoor Club, have organized a meeting of Film Forum, with the screening of a film and debate on issues linked to change in terms of the concepts of equality, along in recent history.
The film session will take place at 19.30 in the Sociocultural Centre Roque Baños and entry is free.
