The director of the Museum of the City of Murcia closing the lecture on Museums in the Region (05/03/2015)

Throughout the month of February, a total of eight representatives of the major museums of the town, visited Jumilla, in the lecture series "The Museums of the Region of Murcia", an initiative of the Department of Culture, by putting in cultural heritage value of the museums in the region.

Yesterday the cycle with the visit of the director of the Museum of the City of Murcia, Consuelo Oñate Marin, who was accompanied by the teacher conservative, Clara Alarcón Ruiz, responsible for a detailed review of the Museum of the City of Murcia, was concluded, where much of the local history of the capital of the region is home.

As explained by the speakers, the Museum of the City of Murcia is located in a privileged location, next to the Convent of Sorrows and Salzillo Museum, in a house that was built where pieces of great historical value are housed.

From the algárica and Iberian culture to Murcia face of the twentieth century, through the Islamic period, the transition to Christian Murcia, or urban development of the last century, the museum shows the evolution of the city and part of their identity.

For the lecture series have been outstanding representatives of the regional culture.

The cycle began with the presentation of the director of the Archaeological Museum of Murcia, Lettuce Manuel Galindo, on managing "Regional Museums Policy".

During every Thursday in February, was held a presentation focuses on the different sections of the museums in the region.

Museum of Ethnography, Archaeology, Science of Nature, all have had their representation in this initiative developed in Jumilla.
