The Dominican Antonio Praena thrilled the audience with his proclamation of Holy Week (23/03/2015)

The Dominican friar Antonio Praena was in charge this year to make the Proclamation of Easter, one of the biggest events organized by the Central Board of the Brotherhood, with which the Passion Week begins in Jumilla.

Poet degree in theology from the University of Salamanca, and today, professor of the Faculty of Theology San Vicente Ferrer of Valencia, Antonio Praena began his opening speech recalling the preaching of the Dominican San Vicente Ferrer also 600 years ago, however, its intervention was essentially the parallelism between the steps that make Easter jumillana, and the circumstances of modern life, people-centered.

With a hopeful spiritual message, the proclamation also highlighted by the literary quality and lyrical height Dominican, which thrilled the audience with easy verb, leisurely intonation and closeness.

The Parish of Santiago hosted the event, which was chaired by the Mayor of Jumilla, Enrique Jimenez and the president of the JCHSS, Fulgencio Garcia, and which was also attended by the majority of councilors Team government, regional deputies, and representatives of all the fraternities and sororities that make up the Central Board.

During the ceremony in addition, has awarded the Gold Medal of the current President of the JCHSS, Fulgencio Garcia and three presidents of guilds, Mercy Thomas, Maria Isabel Palao and José María Jiménez, recognized with the Silver Medal as new members the General Assembly of the Brotherhoods of Semana Santa de Jumilla.

Prior to the celebration of Mass, celebrated by the chaplain of the Board D. Jorge Oliva, in the City of Jumilla took place the official reception of the preacher, who has left his signature in the book of honor of the City, as usual.
