The Social Centre for the Elderly in Jumilla yesterday hosted the First Meeting of Monitors Volunteers recognizes the selfless work of people who develop numerous workshops and activities in these centers, which help to maintain active seniors attending these workshops .
The ceremony was attended by the managing director of IMAS, Leopoldo Navarro, CEO Seniors, Enrique Pérez, and the Councillor for Social Policy, John Calabuig.
As noted Councilman John Calabuig, "the work they do each of the volunteers having their time selflessly for the benefit of others is priceless, and this simple act we want to thank the involvement they have with the Social Centres and the older people involved in these activities. "
Meanwhile Leopoldo Navarro, thanked on behalf of the regional administration, the commitment of volunteers, without whom it would be impossible to develop the number of workshops held in each of the Social Centres.
"You are a cornerstone for older people to remain active and enhance all your skills," says the managing director of IMAS.
During the event, participants of the workshop Rondalla de Jumilla, performed several folk songs, after which presented the diplomas of thanks to the volunteer monitors Centers Jumilla, Yecla and Cieza was made.
In Jumilla, nine volunteers who teach literacy workshops, bobbins, sewing, ceramics, history, coral, and information technology, complementing the range of activities to which users can access the Centre.
In total 108 people benefit from these workshops taught by volunteer monitors, in addition to those financed with the IMAS budget, Cajamurcia Foundation, Integra Foundation, the City Council, and the Council of Participation Centre.
In total Jumilla Center has 18 courses and workshops, divided into 49 groups, with over 700 people participating in these activities.
