Partnerships for social purposes Jumilla will benefit the grant program promoted by the Municipality (01/04/2015)

Another of the points discussed last Monday in the regular full-March, and approved unanimously by the plenary, were the Bases and Call for awarding grants to municipal associations for social purposes, so that once they are published in the BORM, and interested entities may apply for these grants.

The Councillor for Social Policy, John Calabuig, explained this measure, through which, it will enable Jumilla associations with projects aimed at social benefit, to develop the proposed programs with a financial contribution that will face the City.

In the 2015 budget, thus, a heading for this grant program of 63,600 euros, to be shared among the applicants associations, depending on their reports, which will be thoroughly assessed according to the rules that are approved contemplated.

The associations can benefit from these grants are those non-profit, whose social work has to do with family and children, the elderly, people with disabilities, immigrants and at risk of social exclusion, women and equality.

The evaluation committee will be composed of the heads of services and programs of the Center for Social Services, so that prevail purely technical aspects and socially profitable.

Moreover, during the explanation of the bases, the holder area councilor nuance as it may not seek grants for projects that already have budgetary appropriation, but said "if for other social nature that are not currently funded by the City" .

In the current budget into force on subsidies, for the year 2015 were increased to 113,000 euros those relating to social policy, so that 217,450 euros were allocated during the year.

Among the highlights programs, charitable care that goes from 60,000 to 80,000 euros, plus 15,000 for grants to unemployed persons, large families and pensioners.

Moreover, aid is passed urgent need of 2-5000 euros, in addition to this game than 63,000 euros for social collectives.
