From Jumilla out the three students who will represent the region at the National Mathematical Olympiad (20/04/2015)

This weekend took place in Jumilla, the end of the XXVI Olympiad Mathematics of the Region of Murcia, a test organized by the Society of Mathematical Education in the Region of Murcia, SEMRM, in collaboration with the IES Archbishop Lozano, and the Department of Education, which have left the three winning students who will represent the region in the national phase.

Barnabas Santiago Leal, Poet IES Sánchez Bautista, of Llano de Brujas;

José Miguel Reinaldos Miñarro, the IES Francisco Giner Ros, Lorca;

and Juan Antonio Soler Madrid, of Jesús María de Murcia College students were the three winners of the regional test that was developed during the Saturday morning, on the premises of IES Archbishop Lozano.

The Councillor for Education, Alicia Abellán, president of the Mathematical Society of the Region of Murcia, Welcome Espinar Education, and Director of IES Archbishop Lozano, Pascual Hernández, were responsible for closing the Olympics, with a closing event in that delivery of a recognition of the 30 student finalists was also to publicize the three winning names.

Councilwoman Alicia Abellán congratulated the Institute "for the extraordinary organization, besides the great teacher work done throughout the year, which is put back into value through incentive like this, where we see the dedication of an entire faculty for teaching their students' team.

Likewise, thanked confidence Society Mathematics Education in the Region of Murcia, "an extraordinary opportunity to encourage a taste for mathematics, as evidenced by the participation figures of this test."

Finally congratulated participating school of proof, "having come this far already an award, congratulations."

Meanwhile, Pascual Hernandez, said "the welcome you here today is a pride and get here already a success."

Also stressed "the admiration felt by all, by the work of this Mathematical Society, for organizing an event at this level, and the number of students involved, is a very complicated task and the result has been a success."

It also highlights how "this is much more than a grain of sand, so that students stop seeing mathematics as a subject that difficult and arduous, and taste incentive for this matter."

Finally, Welcome Espinar explained as "the participation of students has exceeded this year, meaning that we had to work a little more, when proofreading, and choose the selected but has also meant that the test level was higher. "

"These tests, but are related to mathematics, no specific prior knowledge needed, simply use logic and see how the roads leading to the solution need not necessarily be learning in class," stressed about it Welcome Espinar.

The following quote is therefore in the national phase of the XXVI Olympiad Mathematics, taking place this year in Zaragoza, from 24 to 28 June.
