Development opens new roundabout at the intersection of the N-344 road to the Camino de Almansa in Jumilla (31/07/2015)

The budget for the works is € 266,194.14

The Ministry of Development opens to traffic today July 31, 2015, the new roundabout located at km 82 + 000 at the intersection of the N-344 road (pk 82 + 000) to the Way of Almansa, in the Municipal Jumilla (Murcia).

The works were carried out in two months and put into service before the harvest this year, as demanded by many farmers in the area, they had to cross the N-344 road at a distance from the old intersection of Camino de Almansa.

The old intersection "T" was located in the suburban stretch connecting Jumilla and Yecla, with a path in curve radius 400 meters, and more than 5,000 vehicles per day traffic, presenting a limited visibility.

This action, which is a new roundabout 40 meters inside radius, with large deflection islands in the approach to the center circle, which increase driver awareness and encourage the reduction of speed, allowing access from both directions of traffic, to respective paths connecting in turn with a large area of ​​farms primarily engaged in growing fruit and produce at this time a major agricultural vehicle traffic.

The work is completed, as an additional measure to improve road safety, with the provision of a bed of gravel braking inside the gazebo, in order to retain as far as possible those vehicles could lose control access of that gazebo.

The amount of the performance is € 266,194.14.

Finally, the effort to fit the layout of the roundabout in order not to affect the large specimen cataloged as singular monumental pine tree stands Murcia.
