Nearly 700 people participated in the Christmas Fun Run II Jumillano thus exceeded all expectations for participation.

Jumilla streets filled with festive, sports and Christmas.

According to the Chronicle sports journalist Seven Day Jumilla JJ Melero, much of runners dressed up like a preview of the carnival and they were mingled with many others that took the competition more seriously.

All were supported from the sidewalks by the hundreds of Jumillano who completed the race course, visiting the center of a city decorated for the occasion.

There was special excitement to know the winning costumes for the great variety that was this year.

The first award was for 'The Sandwich Parra', consisting of the same participants who triumphed in last year.

The large group of 'The robbers took the second place, while' The Indies', formed by members of the Triathlon Club, took third place.

Two couples were protagonists of the fourth and fifth prize: "The laborers of the Olive 'and' The Stilts'.

In sporting terms the triumph of General Mohamed Said was completing the just over six miles of travel in 20'25'', twelve seconds ahead of Abdelaziz Dahhaoui.

As for local athletes, Marcos Pérez (24'24'') again demonstrated the momentum on the thirteenth through the post making the senior category.

The race passed through the streets Canovas del Castillo, Juan Ramon Jimenez, Reyes Católicos, Charters, Paseo Poet Lorenzo Guardiola, Avenida Reyes Católicos, Doctor Fleming, San Antón, Salvador Pérez de los Cobos, Plaza de Arriba, San Jose, Miguel Trigueros, Cruces, Briz, Rico, Castelar and Canovas del Castillo.

All participants were given a gift: a shirt and a bag of sweets to all children.

For the first awards were also presented with a box of candy, bottles of wine and a typical cheese donated by Cheese Jumilla Montesinos.

At the end, the organization expressed its satisfaction with the success and thanked all the contributions of both companies and groups such as Civil Protection, Red Cross and local police and partner sports clubs and associations, among others.
