The Minister of Public Works Jumilla delivery of Public Advocacy ten homes for rent (14/01/2009)

The Minister of Public Works and Planning, José Ballesta, accompanied by the local mayor, Francisco Abellán, Jumilla today handed the keys to ten new homes for rent that the regional government has promoted the town through Housing and Land Institute (IVS).

During the ceremony, the Minister referred to the importance of collaboration between the regional and municipal administration, in order to comply with Article 47 of the Constitution includes the right "to decent housing and adequate" adding that "the powers government must establish the relevant rules to enforce this law, such as the construction of these houses has been made possible in part through the sale of the land on which they are by the municipality of Jumilla.

The new development, located on the street pottery, together with the Cerro del Uploader and around Jumilla Castle, has been executed by the regional administration in a plot of 776 square meters and an investment of nearly one million euros.

These ten houses between 3 and 4 bedrooms, and an area of 90 sq meters, including all living room, kitchen, toilet, bathroom and backyard.

The varied colors of the walls of this housing development and their holes and textures create an interesting architectural diversity, even within uniformity, results in a modern and avant-garde in this part of town.

Families access to new homes, selected by the Regional Housing Commission through the technical report issued by the Social Services Centre of Jumilla, will do on a lease with a maximum price of 163 euros per month for larger, and 151.33 euros for the smallest.

"The contracts are for three years and renewable for up to ten and then, tenants have the option of buying these homes," said Ballesta.

Award Procedure

The Regional Housing Committee 17 June 2008 gave approval to the proposal the City Council for the leased housing, which opened after the deadline for applications in the Social Services City of Jumilla.

Subsequently drew up a provisional list, the corresponding period last statement, received final approval on 12 December.

Through this process, the new promotion is designed to ten families in need for housing, one of the priorities of the regional executive.

In addition, required that the applicant was registered in Jumilla for at least 3 years, and takes into account the state of a widow or unmarried with children and the disabled, among others.

Finally, the Minister referred to an upcoming project of the Institute for Housing and Land in the municipality and is already working on this body: the remodeling of the IVS-owned homes located in the Barrio de los Angeles.
