With the appointment of the new charges festive XXIII Cultural Week began Moors and Christians (22/04/2009)

With the appointment of the new charges and festive presentation of the poster for the holidays has begun XXIII Cultural Week of the Association of Moros y Cristianos Don Pedro I of Jumilla.

The persons elected to these positions are Maria Gonzalez, as bearer of the association, as an ambassador for the holidays named Juan Antonio Soler, director of Telecable Jumilla, Captain Moor will be Antonio Martínez, Councillor Services and Jose Lopez, the current headman of Fuente del Pino, who will captain Christian.

This event took place last Monday and was attended by members of the association and various authorities and town councilors.

The event began with the delivery, by the festive group, a reproduction of the councilmen records chapter of Culture, Education and Celebration, as well as the Mayor of Jumilla.

Then was presented the poster for the upcoming holiday season of August, with the help of Ginés García, professor of charter schools Cruz de Piedra.

As explained by the author, in this poster lists the most representative symbols of the association, chapter minutes, the cross, the crescent and the castle of the city.

He was then inaugurated the exhibition of the work involved in the competition for the cover of the book, call to which there have been a total of 53 works.

These works can be seen in the exhibition hall of the CAM until 30 April, with visiting hours from 17:00 to 20:00.

The winner was Jonathan Puigbert, the second prize went to Manolo Gonzalez, Bernardo Simon won third prize and, finally, the second prize went to Melania Payá.

The awards ceremony will be next Monday at 20.30 hours in the classroom culture of CAM.

Before this activity, on Sunday April 19 there was a mass in memory of the deceased of the association.

The Cultural Week continued on Tuesday, 21 with the reading of the story of "The Count Lucanor" reading done by secondary school students Concerted Cruz de Piedra.

On Wednesday 22 April, also at 20:30, takes place the conference "periods of the Conquest in the Region of Murcia 'the hand of the school's history teacher Maria Dolores Cruz de Piedra Gil Thomas.

This talk will be in the classroom culture Cajamurcia.

The XXIII Cultural Week lasts until 27 April.

On Thursday 23 there will be another conference entitled 'The embassies of Jumilla' and will be hosted by Manuel Gea Rovira, writing and corresponding member of the Real Academia Alfonso X El Sabio.

It will also be in Cajamurcia at 20:30.

Meanwhile, on Friday 24 April, will perform a concert of Medieval and Sephardic music, played by the Group Jumillano 'Second Hand'.

The concert will be at 20:30 hours in the CAM.

On Saturday April 25th at 9:00 in the morning will take place at the Castillo de Jumilla, the Commemoration of the Conquest of making the Castle, by the Association Arcabuceros Comparsa.

On Sunday 26, 12:00 festero will be a concert by the Musical Association Julian Santos, in the courtyard of Market Square for the traditional market.

Finally, on Monday, April 27, at 20:30, during the conquest of the Infante D. Jumilla

Frederic, will be held the closing ceremony of the Cultural Week, with the awards to the winners of the poster contests and other collaborators.

Will be in the exhibition hall of the CAM.

These activities have the cooperation of the City of Jumilla through various council departments such as Education, Culture and Celebrations.
