Ten groups taking part in the XXVIII National Folklore Festival City Jumilla (18/08/2009)

A total of ten groups, coming from different Spanish geographical locations are participating in the National Folklore Festival XXVIII City of Jumilla.

Since last Friday, members of these formations are leading various activities, including the festival's own sessions that have been assisted over two thousand people, according to the capacity of the garden of the Square, the scene of these proceedings.

The groups participating are the host, Group Songs and Dances Francisco Salzillo of Jumilla, Jack Ururel Group (Jaca, Huesca), the Danzas Group Esteva (Segovia), Grup de Danses Carrascal d `Alcoy (Alicante Alcoy.) song and dance Virgen del Rosario (Alhama de Murcia), Association of Daute Menceyes Interián The cove (Garachico, Tenerife), Songs and Dances Lola Torres (Jaén), Oinkari Dantza Taldea (Villabona, Guipuzcoa), Songs and Dances Macha Green Argamasilla de Alba (Ciudad Real) and Songs and Dances Virgin Hazard (Aljucer, Murcia).

The members were officially welcomed on Friday at a ceremony held in the city of Jumilla, where the corporation, led by Mayor Francisco Abellán, welcomed them and wished them a pleasant stay.

As usual, the groups held a gift exchange with the City, represented by several councilors.

In addition, we performed Awards Festival 2009, which this year have been for Business Abiarjo and Emiliano Hernández.

With these awards are recognized for their collaboration and contribution to the festival.

The event was hosted by Maria Pla.

After this event, was held in the yard of the roundabout the first session of the festival.

It started with some delay in the absence of authorities that were in the procession of the patron and had a capacity almost complete.

The inauguration began with the traditional hoisting of flags, and the intervention of the mayor and the exchange of flags between the participating groups and organizations.

Before starting the dances, they heard the music of Roque Baños and teacher Julian Santos, with a performance of 'Tango Ensemble Tirao. "

This group will also perform on Friday in the garden of the Square, from ten at night.

On Monday August 17, held the second session of the festival takes place on Tuesday 18 Gala Communities and the closing ceremony of the festival.

In the first two, five different groups involved in each, having a longer time of action, while in the closing session, called Gala of the Communities, they will all groups showing a touch of his most characteristic folklore .

The various sessions, that had a significant technical and human deployment as well as coverage of various local media were presented by LA Molina and Antonio Carlos Jiménez.
