A total of 170 players participated in the latest round of Regional Chess Championship held in Jumilla (24/11/2009)

A total of 170 players gathered in the afternoon on Saturday to contest the final round of the Regional Chess Championship Team which was held in Jumilla, according to reports from the Chess Club Coimbra.

This sporting event took place in the room Gémina of Bodegas San Isidro and in total 42 teams participated.

The event was attended by Mayor of Jumilla, Francisco Abellán, Councillor for Sports, José Luis Monreal and President of the Chess Federation of the Region of Murcia, Antonio Gallego.

Were responsible for making awards to the winners of the three divisions.

Francisco Abellán club have announced that, next year, one of the offices of the Center for Multiple Use Association and whose construction is ending.

For his part, Councillor for Sports José Luis Monreal encouraged the Chess Club "to follow the same line of work, which strongly supports the youth and younger."

As the results, there Honor Division two champions, as both the International Chess Club of Totana and the Cartagena Lapuerta joined CDA 20'5 points and, as submitted by the President of the Federation, both teams try to represent Murcia Championships in Spain.

In third place was the Willows Chess Club "A" of Cartagena, who scored 18 points.

In the First Division won the Mar Menor "A" in San Javier with 19.5 points, second was the Chess House Murcia "A", who totaled 19 points and finished third the Vistabella "A" of Murcia with 17 points.

Coimbra Jumillano team "A" could only be 7 degrees to a total of 8.5 points.

In Division II there was a clear winner was the Chess Club Monteagudo "A" to 23'5 points.

In Position 2 Chess Club ended Mazarrón with 20'5 points and finished the third with 17.5 points Sewell CA.

The Coimbra Jumilla "B", which argues in this division ended in a very good 6 th place with a total of 15.5 points.

After the awards ceremony, the paths Chess Federation gave commemorative plaques to both the City Council and Sports Association Coimbra, for organizing the event.

Then came the honor offered to all attendees.
