More than 4,000 people participated in tours of Jumilla in 2009 and about 5,000 were inquiries about the city (01/02/2010)

A total of 4,353 people participated in tours of Jumilla over last year and 4,700 consultations were carried out on the town in the Office of Tourism.

These are some of the data, in Tourism, past 2009, the year in which Jumilla also participated in various fairs and promotional activities, and since the council was the publication of various artwork and preparing reports for magazines and publications, as well as other actions taken from this area.

As the number of visitors, they were divided into a total of 153 patients seen by a tourist guide, many of them formed by different groups of people, including schoolchildren and visitors from Murcia, Alicante, Valencia, Barcelona, Madrid, Albacete, Caravaca, La Union, Abarán, Hellin, Totana, Torrepacheco, Cartagena, Sewer, Yecla, Granada, Seville, or groups as 'Murciatours', 'Merchants' Association of the Region ',' Medymed ',' Cultural Association Sangonera La Verde 'French exchange students, journalists from Channel 7, School of Languages of Torrevieja, Orihuela Senior Club, Jumilla Red Cross, Knights Group of San Javier, Murcia Maroto Mary College, Santa Catalina School of Pinoso, Brotherhood Yecla, Acutime Association of Cieza, group Repsol Guide, Abanilla IES, San José de La Alberca, medical group or a group of English tourists, among others.

Answering inquiries about the Office of Tourism, a total of 4,700, the majority (2,226) come from the Region of Murcia, in other provinces was 1,307, and other countries 1,141.

There were 26 consultations of unknown origin.

From these consultations, 4,125 did so in person, by phone 465, 98 e-mail, fax and 9 3 letter.

With reference to countries, such as outstanding data, the UK received 588 inquiries, Germany 219 and France 106.

Also Jumilla, through the Department of Tourism, has participated in various fairs and promotional events.

Stresses the participation in the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) with an important role in the ACEVIN booth, where there were discussed various tastings and samplings.

In this exhibition also presented the new leaflet from the Wine Route and the prospectus of the council with the slogan 'Taste, breathes and feels, when Jumilla'.

You participated with various groups festive in Turismur, promotional material and a presentation of the route as well as tastings.

Through ACEVIN in November the town was present in the same month INTUR and promotional material was Gastronomy Fair and other fairs Alicante and Murcia Turística.

Locally, since the council has been involved with promotional materials, activities like Expoboda, fair Love, various mini wine fairs, fair Granada and Murcia Goat Craft Fair.

In terms of publications and related to tourism, Jumilla has produced reports for the magazine 'stand', Repsol Guide 'magazine' Clara ', the portal www.dondeviajamos.com' Gastronostrum Magazine ', the' Journal Hosteltur ' and www.viajmosdos.com.

You developed a comprehensive dossier for the newspaper Seven Days Jumilla occasion of the award granted by this weekly for the Wine Route.

Over 2009 took to the streets several promotional publications of the city, such as brochures and posters of the council 'Taste, breathes and feels, when Jumilla' new brochure City Road, street date and Eca Guide 2009, among others.

With regard to the Jumilla Wine Route, consisting of various agencies and companies, the Department of Tourism coordinates throughout the year the work of the partnership, collaborating and sponsoring other promotional material as well as different activities.

Of these stresses the second edition of the series 'Music Among Wine' and the 4 th week Gastronomy.

The II series 'Music Among Wine' was held over five weekends, from 16 May to 14 June.

That year, the gold badge of the route was given to composer Roque Baños Jumillano, in recognition of his successful career and a great ambassador for the city all over Spain.

During this cycle, there were guided tours of the city and, in addition to promoting local and regional media of Murcia, Albacete and Alicante, were distributed 5,000 leaflets and 300 posters in the tourist offices, associations and officials of Murcia, Albacete, Valencia and Alicante.

As for Food Week, in it tasted almost 6,000 and almost 2,000 tapas menus at different restaurants and specialty shops.

In addition, the council made a great effort of promotion and media publicity in local media and regional de Murcia, Albacete and Alicante, with extensive media coverage of Jumilla and the live broadcast from the city's programs Punto Radio and Regional Wave.

In late 2009 we have worked on the development of the new Guide Jumilla 2010 and 'Jumilla in a year', and a schedule of Jumilla and some mouse pads to make it known and distributed this year.

All this with the sponsorship and a grant from the Ministry of Tourism, through the Commonwealth of the Northeast.

Jumilla has also been leading the project "Tourism in the Northeast.
