The competition for quality wines from DO Jumilla 2010 will be held during the 15th and 16th April.
This is the sixteenth edition of a contest than last year, returned to over a hundred bottled wine samples, belonging to almost all of the wineries that make up this DO, unequivocal sign of the depth and importance of this contest .
In the current edition, it should anticipate that the gala dinner which will be held the awards ceremony will be at the Crescent Halls of Jumilla and that this contest will feature a series of cultural activities organized in parallel with tastings, aims to raise awareness of the culture of wine in this Journal.
These activities are an exhibition of old bottles and labels for their legacies can provide all those wine lovers who have the pleasure of working and a lecture by various journalists whose title is "Wine in the press."
These activities are organized by the Institute of Wine Culture in collaboration with the CRDO Jumilla.
In addition, using the script marked in recent years, the same Francisco Abellán Martínez, President of Honor of the DO Jumilla 2009, relinquish his post to the new Honorary President.

The categories in which this contest is divided are White, Rose, Young reds processed or no contact with barrel aging, vintages 2008 and 2009, young red wines Monastrell processed or no contact with barrel aging, vintages 2008 and 2009, worked or Monastrell Young reds aged in barrels, vintages 2008 and 2009, young red wines or aged in barrels made, vintages 2008 and 2009, red wines aged in barrels or vintages 2007 and older, red wines Crianza, Reserva and Gran Reserva reds and sweet wines and liquor.
